The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force. Collazo Ortiz is the son of Felicita Ortiz of Ceiba. He is a 2005 graduate of Santiago Iglesias Pantin, Ceiba. He earned a master’s degree in 2011 from Polytechnics University of Puerto Rico, San Juan.

Brent S. Sheehan

Brent S. Sheehan has been promoted to the rank of chief master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. Sheehan is the superintendent of civil engineer deployment scheduling assigned to the 502nd Air Base Wing at Randolph Air Force Base, Texas. The new chief master sergeant has served in the military for 20 years. He is the foster son of Brian Sheehan of Berry Valley Lane, Yelm, and father of Bill and Rachel Tichy of North 18th Street, Tacoma. Sheehan graduated in 1989 from Wilson High School, Tacoma.
